Kiama

Kiama is a coastal town 120km south of Sydney.  It is the perfect destination for a day trip, or a short coastal getaway with family or friends.  It’s nice to visit any time of the year, but on my most recent trip, we went in the middle of winter, as it was the perfect opportunity to soak up some of the winter sun.

Tokonoma

Earlier in the year, I was treated to a wonderful dinner at Tokonoma.  I had heard about Toko and Tokonoma for a while, and through speaking with friends, it was a place I had wanted to try but never found the right opportunity, or time.  We had initially planned to have dinner elsewhere, but when the boy told me that he had changed his mind and booked Tokonoma instead, I was so thrilled!

Leura

Without a doubt, the Blue Mountains is a must visit area for visitors Sydney.  It is most well known for the Three Sisters located at Katoomba.  However, in addition to this, there are so many wonderful suburbs to check out in the neighbouring area.  One of them is Leura.

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!  This year the City of Sydney put together a lantern trail walk, which features all 12 zodiac lanterns at different locations around the city.  I know I haven’t captured all of them, but it was definitely lots of fun walking around and looking at them.  The QVB (top right) and Martin Place (lower right) also had impressive displays of lanterns.  Gong xi fa cai!

Glass Brasserie Buffet Breakfast

The Glass Brasserie is situated on level 1 of the Sydney Hilton and receives its name from the beautiful high ceilings and glass windows which look out onto George St and the Queen Victoria Building.

Reservations can be made in advance however due to its popularity, are only held for 15 minutes.  Most of us wanted to sleep in but when we heard about this, we didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity.
